Dreams really do come true ;)

After arguing with a cell phone network for about an hour on Thursday morning about cancelling a contract, I really needed a pick me up ;)

So I decided to make my way to Zara for a little browsing....

I nearly fainted when I saw the shoes I have been wanting for months. The sales attendant had a good laugh when I genuinely gasped at the site of them and continued to beg for my size in them!

Nothing like a little bit of shopping to turn that frown upside down.

Stack em...

I absolutely love accessories. For me its like the cherry on top of your outfit ;)

Your outfit is not complete without your accessories and it really makes you look 'well put together' when you wear accessories well.

Over the years we have all collected a lot of jewelry, the key is to not over do it or under do it when accessorising

Your accessories should be the finishing touch of your outfit, unless you are going for the more statement look with your jewels like with a statement chunky necklace or over sized earrings.
I must say a big no no for me is wearing earrings and a necklace together. I'm talking statement earrings and a statement necklace. Keep one of them the focus, so if you have decided on big earrings for the day or evening, loose the necklace and if you are rocking a necklace keep your earrings very small and simple (dainty studs will do the trick) you never want to go over the top with your accessories.

Of course with your bangles there is no limit. The more you have on the better, the stack is a great look and if you have a statement watch, add your bangles behind it to create your stack. It really is a fun way of accessorising and it is also so fun to incorporate colour with your stack to your outfit.

Gold and torqouise look great toghether.

My watch is from Fossil in New York, and I must say it is one of my favourite purchases from our 4 week holiday we took in the USA.

My silver bangles are from Forever 21 in New york and my turquoise one is from forever new.

I have to have these shoes!

There is nothing like a great pair of high heels.

Every girl loves them and they make you feel instantly 'sexy' as soon as you put them on.

I have always loved an extremely high heel and if it comes with a platform then I'm sold, but lately these beauties have caught my eye. I am definitely going to hunt down a pair very soon.
The thing I am most excited about is the comfort factor. My platform heels are gorgeous and definitely make a statement but after a few hours I'm ready to kick them as far away from me as possible.

With these beauties, there is no longer a platform and if there is, its very tame compared to my usual heels. They look dainty and add class to any outfit and go with just about everything in your wardrobe.

The 'mary jane' strap has been around for ages and just makes this shoe that much more gorgeous.
The height of the heel varies, although I must say I personally think the higher the heel the better , it just looks so fab with the dainty straps. So keep your eyes on the look out for these cuties, black and nude are what I'm going after but I bet these would be gorgeous in a pop of colour too.

I have to have these! wish me luck ;) ;)

So pretty and feminine and the pearls just make them <3

Stunning with a stiletto heel.

Works with a slight platform too!

These beauties are from Zara, I have wanted them for months now but still no luck :( I would wear these ALOT, they look so comfy.

These pumps are also up there on my (I want!!!) list. The cap adds a bit of 'quirkyness' to what would be an ordinary pump.

My favourite is the metallic cap, I think it takes a casual pump and turns it into something you could wear at night and not feel like you are under dressed without your heels on.

It also works so well on a heel with a pointed toe.
Go for a pastel colour with a metallic cap, or try a black or nude ,with a bright pop of colour in the front.

Pop of colour.

Metallic against a pastel.

Perfect with a heel and a pointed toe.

High neck halters

High neck halters are all the rage at the moment.

I love a high neck sleeveless dress, it really shows off your arms and is a great look for a night out on the town.

Dress it up with lots of bangles or a statement necklace.

My sister and I
Both wearing the highneck trend for a night out in timesquare NYC :)

Exciting news for durban shopaholics....

SOOOOO a good friend of mine and one of my favourite fashion designers 'Hannah Jean' filled me in that gateway will be opening up two news stores soon. Have any idea what they are? These stores should be open by the beginning of 2013. I couldn't be happier and I bet you will be too!

TOPSHOP!

MANGO!

Can you tell Im excited????? ;)

Comfy, cosy knits

One of my favourite things to wear when its a bit chilly out, is a chunky knit jersey.

They are so casual but still manage to add style to an outfit.
I just love how cosy and cuddly they look, and they are so comfortable!

You can wear them with shorts when you need a bit of a cover up or with your skinny's and boots. You really can do so much with them, you can wear them in so many different ways...

Nothing beats a cream or grey chunky knit with white skinny's! Absolutely love them <3
Add a snood for extra warmth and style!

Pair them with your fav pair of skinny jeans or leggings.

With a cute pair of demin shorts. Perfect for spring, which is around the corner :)

Whats not to love about a blazer?

Who doesnt love a good blazer?

Every fash forward girl should have at least one in her wardrobe.
If its going to be just one, make it a classic colour such as black.

They have always been a fashion staple and are so great for our weather here in durban, so it is definately worth while to invest in one;)

I love how a blazer can smarten up a casual outfit, it just gives a casual pair of demin shorts and a tank top the perfect edge. The great thing about a blazer is you always see what top is underneath, even when buttoned up, so make sure you are wearing a cute top ;)

This season, its all about a pop of colour and you can find such gorgeous bright blazers all over (especially at Zara)

So why not have some fun with it and get one in your favourite colour this season? Coral and mint are great for this season and are my personal favourites.

A great look with a classic blazer.

Why not add a pop of colour?

Dress them up or dress them down:)

A pep talk on the peplum

I  am obsessed with the peplum trend, for those of you who dont know what a peplum is....

A peplum is a short and often pleated frill that looks like a skirt which is attached to the waist of a skirt, dress, top, or a fitted jacket.

A small peplum (short in length) cinches in the waist and balances out the hips.

A longer peplum creates an hourglass figure, perfect for girls who are tall and skinny and would like to create some curves.

A peplum top is great for hiding a problem tummy area and great for your dinner parties ( you can eat all you want the peplum is the perfect tummy cover up  ;) )

NEON

Neon looks great on a tan! If you arn't rocking a tan (isnt it winter?) try pink neon, it looks great on any skin tone.

Add some neon to your wardrobe.

I personally prefer to see neon in accessories.
An item of clothing in neon, such as a dress, can be slightly over powering.

Pastels any time of the year!

I'm sure you have noticed all the pastels which are making their way into our stores. Mr Price has a great selection of pastels which are so affordable and so up to date. I cant wait for summer, as pastels really look best when dressed in a summery way. Although a hint of pastel can really brighten up your winter wardrobe too. Think : Scarves, bags, shoes, and accessories. Sass diva and lovisa have a gorgeous pastel range too, so why not start with your accessories:)

Nude accessories for any occassion

I have always been a big fan of nudes, all though with my colouring I have to be careful not to wear too much of it, ( being blonde and quite fair skinned it can blend in with the nude quite well ;))  that's why I love wearing it in accessories.

Sweetheart jumpsuit: Forever New
Skinny belt: Aldo

A brown smokey eye is the perfect match for your nude accessories.

A statement necklace is a great way to smarten up any outfit .

Passion for Fashion

Welcome to Fash Forward, I must admit this blog has been a long time coming...

For as long as I can remember I have always loved fashion. I think this passion started as a little girl being surrounded by my mother who has such a great sense of style, she would constantly update her wardrobe and my sister and I were always welcome to play dress up in her clothes. This was always a huge highlight for us growing up.

At a young age we knew all about high heels and handbags and couldn't wait to be old enough to wear our own, I would often sit at the end of my moms bed and admire her putting on her make up at her dressing table in the morning, its no wonder I am like I am today, obsessed with fashion and glamour. Thanks mom ;)

I am so excited about FASH FORWARD, I really want to show you what fashion is all about and keep you up to date with the latest trends. Fashion really is about having fun with what you wear, although I do understand that not everyone finds a trip to the mall as exciting as I do.

I really hope to change that and open your eyes to the wonderful world of fashion.

Fashion has become a big part of my life, though it is not my career I have come to realise how much I enjoy helping others out when it comes to shopping and finding 'their' style and that's why I have created this blog. I hope that with this you can see my style and what inspires me and in return I hope that you find 'your style' and get inspiration from it, whether I inspire you to paint your nails a different colour or to go out and buy the new 'it' shoe, I truly hope that you get something fabulous out of this. :)

Enjoy!

Angela
